#18 Kelas Konservasi "Tiger Density Analysis"
The capture-recapture (CR) method is the primary method for calculating wildlife density. One of the primary requirements of the CR method is that individual animals can be identified. The unique tiger stripe pattern, like our fingerprints, makes tigers an ideal animal for CR analysis. Camera trap surveys also help researchers to “capture” tiger photos (captures) that are then identified for density analysis.
As a continuation of the previous class on identifying individual tigers, in this series of conservation classes, our expert resource persons will share the stages and techniques of tiger density analysis using the CR method, starting from:
Overview of CR concept, its analysis, and its application in conservation
Overview of dataset for CR density analysis
Demonstration of CR density analysis
This class can also be used for density analysis of other animals with unique markings such as clouded leopards, bears, and others.
Note: this class will be delivered in Bahasa Indonesia
